Our Ambassadors Peter Licence (b. 1973) was educated at the University of Wales in Bangor where he enjoyed the mountains and the sea, moving to Nottingham in 2000 to take up postdoctoral position in the group of Martyn Poliakoff FRS CBE.  In 2005 Pete was awarded a prestigious fellowship and later appointed to the academic staff.   Pete is currently Professor of Chemistry and was named the inaugural Director of the GSK Carbon Neutral Laboratory, currently under construction on Triumph Road in Nottingham.

In addition to leading scientific research on the topic of “Green and sustainable Chemistry”, Pete is committed to science communication and public engagement.  He is well known for the delivery of popular and explosive scientific lectures and as a co-presenter of the YouTube based science channel.
