We Won – Nottingham is Officially England’s Home of Sport!

Nottingham was recently crowned England’s Home of Sport! The city has taken the prize, fighting off competition from Manchester, Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, Rugby and London.

Both the city and the county boast a host of sporting conference and event venues that are perfect for any kind of occasion and celebration. From the city centre to the city outskirts and the rural areas beyond, our beautiful county’s got what you need to make your next event a great success, and with the help of our dedicated Events Team it’s going to be a one to remember.

To celebrate Nottingham’s triumph in Visit England’s Home of Sport competition we’ve put a spotlight on our sporting venues to tell you more about them and what they have to offer. We’re proud to celebrate Nottingham as England’s Home of Sport as well as the venues which provide many of the reasons why Nottingham was the winning destination.

In the heart of Nottingham’s city centre you’ll find the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham. Conferencing at the Arena, the UK’s Premier venue for entertainment and ice sports, could not be better. This venue is an ideal facility for large scale events, AGM’s, product launches and exhibitions. In addition to the main auditorium, Nottingham Arena boasts bespoke conference facilities capable of accommodating up to 220 delegates. The Main Arena can host up to 10,000 delegates in a theatre style.

On the banks of the River Trent, The City Ground, home to Nottingham Forest Football Club, is an inspirational backdrop for your business event or celebration. Only a mile from Nottingham city centre and train station, The City Ground has earned an enviable reputation as one of the East Midlands’ most popular venues. The venue offers a variety of event suites that combine warm, contemporary furnishings with a unique twist which adds personality and charm to any event. It has a range of newly refurbished meeting and conference rooms with multimedia aids to meet your requirements. In addition there is a restaurant providing a quality catering service and a new bar area.

Head to Southwell to see another stunning Racecourse – Southwell Racecourse offers you The Minster Suite, overlooking the racecourse and able to accommodate 300 people, in addition to seminar and breakout rooms, so you can get the most out of your company meetings. The Grandstand concourse can also be utilised for conferences as pictured above.
